  32. They may be checked for little things, like the correct lay-out of the readme
  33. file, the existance of a readme file and the use of a correct archiving format
  34. (like lha).

  36. However, stuff like 'does it run on my machine?' or 'does it break any
  37. copyright laws?' (I am told mods are great offenders here) cannot be checked
  38. in advance. However, Urban Mueller (the main Aminet administrator) will remove
  39. offending files, and authors may upload newer versions of their stuff. So if
  40. you want something changed, first mail the author personally, and if what you
  41. think is wrong is grave enough, mail Urban.

  43. I think this service works perfectly and has given us not only the largest
  44. collection of freely distributable files in the world (!), but also one of the
  45. best collections. (People who have ever tried to find something on a Wintel
  46. oriented server will know exactly what I mean).
